Spring

March 16, 2015 By Twin Acres Homestead 4 Comments

It is a beautiful day here in Ontario, the sun is shining and it is a balmy 5 degrees out!  A good sign that warmer weather has arrived is when the chickens finally start going outside.  The ducks regularly come out to sit in the sun throughout the winter, the chickens are a bit more dainty.  I was able to grab a few pictures this morning as I was out and about in the yard. These ladies rule the yard 🙂

It’s hard to believe that not long ago the only part of the garden you could see was the top of the potting table and bed frame.

Mya enjoying the warmer weather

Hi, thanks for the comment. How many chickens we have depends on the season. We add more during the spring, summer and fall, then downsize for winter (due to space). This winter I only had room to keep four. The others go to my sisters farm down the road, she has a large barn to winter them in. During the warmer months we have chicken tractors to use on our lawns, so more room 🙂
