A few weeks ago I mentioned that we were missing one of our Dorking hens, and how I thought she was sitting on a nest somewhere. Well this morning I was moving some extra lumber around at the back of the coop, and I saw some tail feathers sticking out.
There she is sitting on a nest. We should have chicks in the next few weeks, not exactly sure on the day since I’m not 100% sure when she started sitting. We are glad she is still in the pen safe and sound, I had been afraid she had gotten out and had been eaten by a predator.
Over the weekend we were finding ways to make our lives simpler, I’ve been thinking about ways to make my transition back to work easier. This past Friday I had gone into the school for an end of the year kindergarten meeting, it made the reality of going back to work real.
So, I decided I needed to purge my closet. Most of the clothes that I own I don’t wear, they have been accumulating over the years and often end up never getting worn. With Leighton’s help, we went through our closet and our dressers, and now have a large amount of clothes to be donated.
Already I feel better about going back to work. Knowing I won’t have to sift through mounds of clothes to find something to wear every morning is a big stress reliever for me.
