Garden Picture Update

July 8, 2015 By Twin Acres Homestead 4 Comments

We finally have warm weather here and the garden has taken off.  We are pleased with how well our small vegetable beds are doing.

The big garden still has drainage issues that will have to be worked out in the future.  There are puddles surrounding the garden and the soil is saturated with water.  Thankfully the vegetables are still growing, and hopefully with the warmer weather the ground will dry up a bit.

The peas are growing very well, this has been our best year for them.  We have enough for our family and my sisters to eat almost every night.  I have also pickled some, we will see how they turn out in a few weeks.

The squash and corn are doing well in another small bed.

How is your garden growing?

I agree!! Finally the garden is starting to get some headway. Herbs and lettuce has been feeding us for a few weeks, but the rest definitely needed that hot spell to kick it up a notch. Your garden looks vibrant !!

I have tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, egg plant, variety of lettuce, herbs and beautifully scented lavender. I’m about to go to the garden and snip off some lavender flowers and put on my bedside table.

Next year i want to add beans. Hopefully.

Thanks, we would like to add more herbs next year, hopefully 🙂 I would love to have an herb garden in my front yard someday.
