Well the time has come, I am back to work and we survived our first few weeks. It helped immensely that Leighton took the first week off to help ease us back into our new routine. This week coming will be the true test of our organization as Leighton heads back to work on day shifts and I am in the classroom.
R is back to school as well and is loving it. He is now in SK and I am pleased that he is in the same class and has the same teachers making his transition easier. A does not seem disturbed that I am back to work and has had fun hanging out with Daddy this week, although I do admit that it was a difficult transition for me, and I am still not use to leaving him in the morning.
We have started using out meal plans again and they have been both a time saver and reminder to keep us on track with eating real foods. Along with using meal plans we have also been doing as much as possible on the weekend, this includes laying out our clothes for the week, preparing lunch and supper foods and laundry.
The garden has been neglected a bit, I had hoped to get into this weekend and start harvesting some of the root vegetables but it has rained all weekend. Lori and I are now hoping to get into it next weekend if the rain holds off.
While it has been raining I have had a chance to get some cleaning done inside and after watching a program on tiny houses it has inspired me to go through areas of the house and get rid of what we do not use. It is amazing how much we have accumulated over the seven years we have been in the house, and how much of that we do not use.
As we are adjusting to our new ‘normal’ routines I am sad that our slower paced living is being replaced with a busier schedule but I know we will adjust 🙂 .
How does your family keep up with busier schedules?
